Mr. Washington Kiiru
Board Chairman
Director of Financial Systems and Management Consultancy (FISMA – CONSULT) and a former part time lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and Kenyatta University where he taught Entrepreneurship and Business Management. Prior to that, he was the United Nations Development Program.(UNDP) Assistant Resident Representative based in Nairobi and overall in charge of the Employment and Sustainable Livelihoods Program.
Ms. Miriam Wambui
Board Member
Ms. Miriam Wambui is the Founder and Executive Director of Scope and Impact Ltd. She leads the people, strategy and results division for East Africa region. She founded Scope and Impact after nineteen years’ leadership experience. She is an accomplished human resource leader, change manager and award winning speaker. She chairs the technical judge bench for HR Circle of Excellence Awards. She serves on several boards as a director.
- She has an MSc HR, MBA leadership & Sustainability. A member IHRM (K), Women on Boards (K) and a Certified Coach and Change Leader.
- Her social impact is achieved through LEAP program, a youth empowerment program that helps them gain solid ground and expand their network.
Dr. Josephine Muiru
Board Member
Dr. Josephine Muiru, sits in the Posterity and Marketing committee, is a Medical Doctor with 13+ experience in Medical/Regulatory & Quality control Advisory, Healthcare access, Medical Public affairs engagement and Healthcare management. She is also a holder of an MBA in Healthcare Management.
Mr. Joseph Kimani Maina
Board Member
Joseph Kimani Maina (Joe), has over 15 years’ experience in financial services across Africa where he has been specifically involved in microfinance, strategy, impact investments, training, research, analysis and consulting in different organizations. He holds a B.A (Economics) from Moi University, MBA (Strategic Management) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership Development at Pan Africa Christian University. Joseph is currently a Co-Founder and Director of Strategy and Business Development at Jeypent, a consulting firm based in Nairobi, Kenya. In the past, he worked as an Investment Manager – Uganda & Anglophone West Africa at Kiva Microfunds, Regional Analyst – Anglophone Africa at Microfinance Information Exchange (MIX) and held different positions in leading microfinance institutions, a commercial bank and a state corporation in Kenya.
Mr. Richard Musyimi Mbalya
Board Member
Richard Musyimi Mbalya is the Chairman of Audit, Risk and Governance of Roots Credit Limited and the Chief Executive Officer of Joframic East Africa Agencies ltd, with fast interest in Manufacturing, Energy ,General Distribution and Retail Trading. He is a Holder of MBA in Strategic Management and Marketing from Daystar University and a Bachelor Degree in Environmental sciences from Egerton University.
Mr. Charles Maina Mwangi

Mr. Charles Maina Mwangi has been a career banker for 25 years. He has previously worked at Barclays Bank of Kenya where he rose to senior management positions before leaving the bank to pursue personal business ventures. Charles brings to Roots Credit Limited invaluable banking experience especially on Operational fronts and Financial Management.
